“Paula has been presenting workshops for the Western Sydney Leisure and Recreation Service (WSLARS) and Support for Day to Day Living in the Community (D2D) programs – both services of Uniting Care Mental Health – since May 2012.

Paula is a highly skilled, experienced and gifted facilitator. Her expertise in mental health is evidence by the quality of information she presents. Paula has developed and delivered workshops on a broad range of topics to help support and educate our clients to deal with the complexity of living life with a mental illness. Workshop topics to date have included self-esteem, body image, depression, anxiety, coping with stress, effective communication, and relationships.

All workshops are referenced and the information is based on current and up-to-date evidenced based research. She engages thoughtful conversation with the group, is sensitive, reflective and non-judgmental. Our clients speak very highly of Paula. When asked about her experience of being part of Paula’s workshop one young woman replied:

“The information she (Paula) gives us is very informative. It opens my eyes to things I was previously not aware of. She makes us feel valuable, worthwhile and important and I know I can talk to her about what I’m feeling and not be judged. Paula is very important to us.”

Paula’s workshops have become a regular fortnightly event in the D2D program and we look forward to continuing our working relationship with Paula in 2013.”
